Celebrating Earth Day!

Primary level 3rd and 1st students have immersed themselves in the celebration of Earth Day, learning about the importance of taking care of our planet and reviewing the three fundamental pillars of recycling: reduce, reuse and recycle.

As a special activity, the children indulged their creativity and artistic skills by drawing cards dedicated to planet Earth. It was an opportunity to reflect on the beauty and fragility of our home in the cosmos, as well as to remember the importance of protecting and conserving our natural resources.

Our third-grade students in their social studies project. Modeling 🌎 Continents and oceans... practical and dynamic projects.

Throughout this activity, our young students not only showcased their artistic talent but also internalized valuable lessons about environmental responsibility and caring for the environment. We are proud to see how they are growing into conscious citizens committed to the well-being of our planet.

Let every day be an Earth Day!

On School Coexistence Day, Preschool Semillero participated in a reading of the story "The Color Monster" by author Anna Llenas. The narrator was Miss Marjorie Veas, a Special Education teacher at our school. Children and teachers participated by choosing the color that represented their current emotion. The goal was to learn to live together in a group and to recognize and validate our individual emotions. From today onward, each grade level will have this activity in the classroom as a permanent resource for expressing feelings, providing us with the information we need to support them whenever required.

A heartfelt farewell! Today we bid farewell to our beloved exchange students with a song in Māori. With a lump in our throats and hearts overflowing with gratitude, we thank our dear exchange students from New Zealand. It has been a wonderful time filled with learning, laughter, and above all, friendship. During their stay, these talented young people have not only shared their knowledge and culture but have also left an indelible mark on our hearts. The bonds of friendship they have forged transcend borders, and we are certain they will last a lifetime. As they prepare to return home, we want them to know they will be deeply missed. Their smiles, their energy, and their adventurous spirit have brightened our days and taught us the true meaning of diversity and inclusion. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors and adventures. May every step they take be filled with success, joy, and love. Remember that you will always have a special place in our hearts and that the doors of our school will always be open to welcome you back with open arms. See you soon, dear friends from New Zealand! May your journey be filled with happiness and new horizons to discover.

On Monday, May 29th, Preschool Semillero received a visit from two police officers from the local precinct, who accepted our invitation to greet them on their day. Thus, despite the fact that the institution was observing a national day of mourning, they still sent Sub-Officer Abraham Marín and Corporal Marcelo Peña, who were welcomed by the children and their teachers. As is tradition, the officers warmly introduced themselves and answered the children's questions. Afterwards, they took photos, met the officers, climbed into their patrol car, and were allowed to use the horn, siren, radio, lights, etc. Then, they enjoyed a cake specially prepared for the occasion. We invited the first-grade students, who joined in the experience with their teachers.

On Friday, April 5th, Mr. Gabriel Galea, Ms. Verónica Pino, and Mr. Jorge participated in a training session offered by Mutual de Seguridad on the use of AEDs, as well as a review of first aid. The school staff receives ongoing training in these areas from Mutual de Seguridad.
