The student exchange lasts for 12 weeks. Students receive a scholarship that covers 100% of the exchange program costs (tuition and host family).

Students only need to cover personal expenses: required documents detailed below, airfare, medical insurance and pocket money.

Students from 1st to 3rd year of secondary school who meet the requirements of the Farmland student profile, such as: Good academic level, intermediate/advanced command of the English language, correct behavior and conduct, self-care ability, autonomy, tolerance, respect, etc., may apply for these scholarships.

Students applying for this scholarship will be registered and then selected by the faculty according to the requirements mentioned above.

Requirements:

1.- The payment of the monthly fee for FARMLAND SCHOOL is not suspended during the time that the student is traveling.

2. The host family must be willing to receive an exchange student in their home. Before the student's arrival and during their stay, the school's exchange coordinator may visit the home. This person is responsible for monitoring the physical environment and the emotional well-being of our exchange students.

The family must have:

  • A single room

  • School transportation

  • Feeding

  • Purchase of school uniform/sweatshirt (except for senior students or staff)

The family must be willing to:

  • Involve the student in family activities and cover the expenses if these activities require it.

  • Provide a comfortable and welcoming space for the exchange student to stay in.

  • Allow visits from the student's classmates and friends, as long as this does not disrupt the family rhythm.

3. Once the student has been notified of the awarding of the scholarship, he/she must contact his/her Host Family in the foreign country as soon as possible.

4. The scholarship student must never forget that he is there as an AMBASSADOR OF FARMLAND SCHOOL.

5. It is good taste and good manners to bring a present/gift to the Host Family.

6.- Farmland School students who have benefited from the student exchange must report on the activities they are carrying out in New Zealand every 15 days by sending an email and registration photographs to the exchange coordinator.

7.-If the student does not comply with the rules established both in his Host Family and in the school, the exchange process will be terminated and he must return immediately to Chile, with the costs of the advance trip being the responsibility of the parents.

Exchange Programs

Documents required for travel

1.- Fill out the form to obtain a Student Visa, request the form at the New Zealand embassy .
2.- Passport valid for at least 3 months.
3. Airline tickets.
4.- Letter of acceptance from the school in New Zealand (year, course, date).
5.- Certificate of regular student translated into English from Farmland School.
6. Notarized permission from both parents to travel abroad, preferably broad and not limited to New Zealand. Translated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the original and two copies must be obtained.
7. Passport-size photograph (black and white).
8.- Provide proof of parents' financial solvency of approximately US$1,000.
If you are sponsored, you must submit a “Financial Undertaking” form, which you can request from the New Zealand embassy.
9. Money for personal expenses, approximately US$200/month.
